    Hi,

My SCAN AV6 decided to blow up on me last week. I thought I'd be at to live without my surround sound but now it's starting to bug me. I can't afford brand new equipment just yet although as per my other thread I do have something in mind.

I was wondering if there was an AV receiver out there that would work with my speakers on a temp basis. Don't mind buying second hand.

The speaker specs are as follows:

    Many thanks in advance

A simple Forum search for 'SCAN AV6' produced the following

Will my Scan AV6 speakers work on the Onkyo 607 Cinema Amp? | AVForums

PS Those speaker specifications are shamefully inadequate for anything approaching even reasonable quality at realistic sound levels !!!

Look in the Forum Classified 'For Sale' Ads for something MUCH better, as well as for a replacement Amp.

    Hi Philip4242,

I did see that thread which is where I pinched that picture from. :)

I thought I'd ask again as it was quite an old post. And I know technology changes.

I had a browse through the classifieds and realised that the price I was paying for anything basic I might as well just save for some proper kit rather than salvaging my old speakers.

I've decided I'm going to go with the onkyo/tannoy speaker setup I saw.

Thank you again for your help.

While technology changes, basic principles do not ! ;)

Fair comments. But I must add as I'm sure you've probably guessed by now I am a bit of a noob to the home cinema scene.

    :)
