First off a little rant? Why is it that you spend a couple of grand on a very capable projector, plasma, LCD etc. but then it is let down by its analogue circuitry which you have to replace with your own just to achive a decent picture. As I put it to someone else, in my mind it is a bit like buying a car with oval wheels, it works but the ride hardly smooth. Any thoughts on this? To the question at hand what scalers etc are there out there and what should I have to pay. I have seen them for as little as £80 (in the form of video to VGA adaptors), £400 for a little more flexibility and then over a grand for respected kit. I'm currently looking to drive a 40" LCD (1280 x 768) and/or a DMD projector (1024 x 768) both with DVI input. Vidoe sources are the usual collection of composite, S-video, RGB and Component.
