Hi all, I'm going to order a Panasonic 42" Plasma soon, I'm gonna use it mostly for DVD (PAL RGB and NTSC RGB), gaming (Gamecube PAL RGB) and some terrestrial analogue TV (VCR receiver with Composite Video). But before I make my final decision, I would like to ask you some questions that may help me, so I don't have to search the net all night long: 1. Is it really a big advantage to use a scaler / line doubler such as iScan Pro/Ultra or FX2? As I have heard from my dealer that the new Panasonic 5 series has already a bulit-in chip that converts interlaced signals into progressive signal (called 3-dimensional progressive scan or something like that..) it seems not necessary to use another device to generate a progressive input signal for the plasma...? 2. I have never seen any of these scaler / line doubler devices in action, could they also help to get rid of the flickering in big bright areas of the Panasonic screens (the only thing I dislike about them)? 3. Has anyone ever seen the TH42PW5 and the TH42PHW5 side by side? Does the higher resolution of the TH42PHW5 really improve the picture when watching TV or DVDs, or will it only help when using the plasma as a computer display (which I will not)? Will the higher resolutions become essential for future high definition DVD or why should I go for the higher resolution? I'm a newbie here and hope you can give me some helpful advice, thanks!
