Scaler/Doubler for my plasma

    Hi guys..

    quick question..

    I am currently feeding my NTL Digital box into a JSim RGB->VGA converter for use on my panny W3 (yes yes i know its dated now..:p) plasma. All of my other sources (DVD, Consoles etc) deliver progressive, so thats fine, but the picture from NTL, although i've tolerated it, could be a lot better.

    So.. my question for the group is...

    Is it worth investing in an IScan type product to increase the picture quality of my NTL.. or am i likely not to see a difference?

    What else could i do to improve things.. without spending a small orune?

    Advice comments on what others have done are welcome..

    i have just last week bought a iscan ultra for my toshiba 42wp16(panny 4 clone)
    and was thinking is this any differance till i watched the liverpool football match and the grand prix this weekend alot less jaggies and smoother lines. it does add a bit of lip sync though and every not and then sort of judders but only every now and then.

    in all vey happy with it.

    using ntl digital and a js tech component conveter and a vanndame vga lead.

    ps using the interlased output of my progressive philips 962sa dvd player into it as i think its better than the on board progressive on the dvd player.

    got mine for £350 deliverd off ebay.
    there is a iscan pro on there for £150 at moment

    thanks... i've seen the auction will keep an eye on it.

    Whats the difference between the pro and ultra?

    ultra has the chroma delay funtion/vga pass through /dvi output/ 2 component imputs/2 composite/2 s-video. and there proberly more funtions. iscan pro does not have all these things

    If you're looking to buy an Iscan there's an Iscan Ultra on eBay at them moment, alternatively my Extron is also up there.

    I was going to sell on the forum but just couldn't work out what was a fair price to ask.
