saxo head gasket - how much?

    could someone tell me how much it should cost to have the head gasket done on a 1.4 8v 98 saxo please

    it hasn't gone - it could apparently just do with being done as it may be soon when it does go!

    Depends on where you are and where you take it. I'd budget at least 350 - 400 quid though.

    i would go for nearer £300 , but it would depend on whether or not the head cracks when it lets go :eek:

    well he took it for an estimate and was told £500 as a bearing needed doing aswell or something, so i wont be buying that one!

    My Saxo VTR also blew a head gasket when I had it a good few years ago now. Good fun but it felt like it was made of bits of balsa wood glued together, glad I didn't wrap it round a tree something because it didn't feel very safe!
