I wish we knew in advance if the others will follow.
It's a shame they didn't just do the lot in x2 two-part steelbooks.
"Saw collection: Part 1"
"Saw collection: part 2"
Too many to collect on this even if they do release the set it would be a alot cheaper to get the box set.
I dont know why they have used the severed hand for the front cover ?
Wouldn't it be more fitting to use the severed foot instead ??
Totally agree. Doesn't make any sense, unless it's not yet the final artwork.
It might look pretty decent glossy but agreed, no foot.
It would certainly cost an arm and a leg...
No guarantees the others will follow either. Easy pass for me, not a fan of the films.
Seems quite an oversight doesn't it.
I concur, and for the price, just looking at this steelbook again it feels like it is missing something...
You didn't put a FOOT wrong there with that joke
Any body parts would have done, i went for the traditional saying
Come on now, I don't want to play a game!
Its an easy miss even though i liked it when the first one came out,
it was new and different, but now it reminds me of Friday 13th, too many parts...
Live now, zvc5 works for 5% off.
Don't like that design at all. The red edition from Germany is fantastic and the one I'll be sticking with.
Anyone else get a french zavvi notification for this along with there UK one?
Yes. Not quite sure why though as I've never been to or used the French Zavvi site...didn't even know they had one!
Same here, was a bit surprised as I don't tend to get promotional emails from them a lot.
I will be sticking with my German release also, Far better than this!
Release date change: 18th January 2016
Release date change makes me wonder if EIV are making sure they don't mess up their quality finish (cropping problems etc...) with this one (same goes for the Blade II & III).
Maybe they decided to go for another manufacturer at the last minute?
Scanavo are the only manufacturers of SteelBooks, they hold the worldwide patent. Maybe they're going with a different design company though.
I know Scanavo is the only one
I expressed myself wrong, i meant to say that maybe they were trying to find a better solution in order to avoid quality & design problems (and therefore poor sales and returns) with these upcoming releases from EIV.
Hopefully they are. The first couple didn't suffer from the cropping issue although the QA wasn't quite right either.
Now 2nd May 2016
For anyone thinking of buying the box set instead of the steels, the U.S. Release is region free and much cheaper than the UK. It's currently £17.70 but keep an eye on it as I picked it up just before Halloween for £12.49!!
This has been cancelled by EiV unsurprisingly.
Zavvi email being sent out now:
I just watched the first movie again on BD a couple of days ago (I'm rewatching the entire series one movie per day). I thought the picture quality was very soft and almost DVD-like so unless they remaster the first two movies (which seem to have the weakest IQ) then I do not see the point in rebuying them again as steelbooks. As such I am glad that this has been cancelled. Zavvi seem to release too many BD steelbooks IMO that are exactly the same picture and extras wise as the years old originals. That means that I have less incentive to buy them, a shame because some of the steelbooks are actually really nice (well anything is better than a boring blue amaray case, right?).
I think the poor design of the severed Hand rather than the Foot is a big flaw on it's own. It's a big missing piece of the Jigsaw
I want to play a game. No wait, I've changed my mind. Ah, I see you are sans foot already. Well this is awkward.
Urm... it's back on:
