Just bought it, but it is £6.75 delivered to the UK. The postage costs of 1.95 Euro's jumps up to 3.50 Euro's once you put a UK address in.

    Still a bargain though.

Can anybody see anywhere selling 1408 as cheap?.

The SAW films are Blu-Ray only for everywhere except Holland.

This is because Dutch Filmworks have the rights for a load of big named films for Holland and they are (or were) dual format releasers like Warners.

They also released the truly excellent 1408 on HD-DVD there and I have been looking for it to complete my collection.

Anybody have comments about the picture quality? I can't find any reviews. Is it uncut/unrated too? I see in the UK there's a couple of versions: extreme edition and directors cut. Which is better? I don't like buying editions that are easily superseded.

    Thanks.

Edit: http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthread.php?t=27919 - Not the uncut version. I'm out. Censorship... yeah, right.

I am not sure if its actually cut, But I ordered it myself so was initially worried about your post.

But looking at this link it states

    According to DVDcompare

So it appears its the unrated edition, but not the Directors cut, likely all the violence will be intact but some minor talking scenes will be cut (just guessing on what is extra on that Dir's cut).

Found this comparing the Directors cut and the Unrated edition

It seems mainly you are loosing a flashback with Shawnee Smith. Personally I am not too concerned about that.
