Omg, chucked on saving private ryan via component (576p) from my sony dvd player and i must say the first 10 minutes was unbelievable. I felt like i was in a war zone lol. Bullets bouncing of metal things everywhere sounded fantastic and the rumble from explosions etc was great too. Any other particularly good films to watch sound wise? Ive only got a denon 1906 and canton cd101 so around £500`s worth but im well impressed with it :)

The R1 version DTS of "The Haunting" the bedroom scene, when the spirits banging on the doors. Awesome bass.

The dts version of SPR is more potent than the standard DD apparently, .. another few if you wanna check how deep your sub goes are: War of the Worlds, U-571, Star Wars EpIII, Matrix Reloaded has always been one of my fav tester discs also..

Add Master & Commander chapter 4 to that - cannonballs parting your hair and people running on the upper deck sound like they're upstairs in the bedroom! Great film into the bargain.

    The Descent.

I watched it last night and the dts track is amazing. lots of cave echoes and water drops all over the place and at one point my missus jumped completley out of her skin as she was convinced there was a monster behind her. very good.

I really enjoy the dts on 'Seven', 'the house of flying daggers', and don't forget the Lord of the rings triology
