Where did you hear about this, oskarbackman? I have been toying with the idea of getting the World War II Collection set of SPR (although I think it's R1 only), but a director's cut sounds tempting too.

Didn't they do a D-Day 60th Aniversary Edition recently?. Think they added loads of extra features but took away the DTS track.

Yes indeedy, they did. What I'm after is the extended extras of the 60th Anniversary but still with DTS - and the only release I can find with that spec is the so-called WWII Collection which has lots of other extras too.

I wonder now what sort of spec a director's cut would have.

I've just received the korean R3 special edition, which is a 2 discer, in a very nice slip case (writing on BACK is Korean - front is ALL ENGLISH) which has DTS and DD5.1 - the DTS is amazing! Also has some special features on disc 2.

I've been considering the DTS version from HMV too - according to dvdcompare.net, the WWII collection is the only one with DTS & the extras, but I imagine its a fair bit more the £7, so I was going to get the DTS from HMV (should be as goo as the Region 3 disk) - but a new "directors cut"! I'm intrigued.

Anyone know more about the directors cut - content, due date etc?

Check out play.com for the DTS version of Sayving Private Ryan. It is £7.99 and includes the pp.
