    Hi,

Yep, it's a 2-disc set alright! Disc 1 has the film with DTS, and Disc 2 has the few extras.

Just seen an ad for this in Total Film. It says that it has "Superior DTS sound". So i guess that makes it official that DTS is better than DD:devil:

Anyone know when it's in the shops, as nobody near me seems to be stocking it yet?

it was released on the 1/9/2003. thinking about buying it but as i already have it and the extras are the same as the DD version and i've seen it about 10 times - may have to wait till it hits a sale.

Had a look round town today and most stores have it, £17.99 in Our Price(Sanity) and £16.99 in Woolworths, Smiths didn't have it(but when do they ever) and its £12.99 from Play i think.

OT but does anyone know why Narc is cheap on the high street, seen it for £13.99 in most stores, is it a poo quality disc or something, or just coz it is a bit of a sleeper? Top, top film thou - should all check it out.

Just got mine today and had a quick flick through and can confirm it is only half bitrate at 768kbps but it`s no suprising seeing that it had a DD 5.1 on as well. Be interesting to see how it compares to the US full bitrate. Can`t see there being to much difference myself.

Really? I always thought dreamworks R1 stand alone DTS versions were full bitrate. Well my R1 Galaxy quest DTS version was full bitrate so i always presumed Saving private ryan was as well. Any reason why the US DTS version isn`t full bitrate?

    Taken from here

I think he means 754 and 1509 rather than 768 and 1536 though.

Some intersting reading, particularly the last 2 documents can be found here
