I can't believe there are many who don't already have a version of 'SPR', but if anyones interested, the new 2 DVD D-Day 60th Anniversary Set inc DTS is only £9.99 in store at MVC in Huntingdon. I guess that'll be the same for all MVC stores.
they have now put the price up to £14.99 , luckily got one yesterday I think it was a mistake. Yes it has DTS sound
I was thinking of the R1 DTS America - (Dreamworks - The World War II Collection (box set)) of the film. This one that we are talking about must be the Region 2 DTS.
Ahh, silly me, I've just seen this DVD in the local shop. Can't beleive it, another release of Saving Private Ryan. Mad
That one is different again, we are talking about the 60th anneverasy edition. The R1 version has no DTS but R2 does.
just bought this dvd at Virgin forr £5.99 but the menu didnt display on the bonus disc so I replaced it and the second set is the same.Disc 1 plays ok,disc 2 plays ok but the disc contents dont display. My player is a Pio 575,any suggestions.By the way Ive tried it in 2 other dvds and its the same but it works fine in a Philips DVDR75 and on my PC.
This version's been £10 instore but they only had few the other day,The SPR World War II Gift Set.It looks like no DTS on the website but has DTS on the box. According to dvdcompare.net it is DTS. http://www.mvc.co.uk/common/product.jhtml?pid=50269837
I also bought SPR 60th Anniversary from Virgin from 5.99 and have the same problem with disc 2 where the menu does not show up. Does anyone else who did not buy this from Virgin have the same problem? Raj
It's only £5.99 from Virgin and has been for a while. Bought mine a few weeks ago. Yes I had a similar 'menu problem' with disc 2 on my Pionner 575 but it played fine on my Pan E100
I just bought this from Virgin (bargain ), but have realised that no-where does it say what aspect this is. Before I open the shrink-wrap, can anyone please confirm if is widescreen (I do not want full-screen!). Thanks.
It sure is Can u check if you are having the sdame problem with disc 2, menu does not show up Rajibear
menu doesn't work for me either. i can navigate it fine because i can see the highlight but i can't see what i'm highlighting..
Has anyone else seen how low the bitrate is on the 60th anniversary edition, on my DVD player it averages at about 1-2mb a second. I thought the picture was grainy because that was how it was shot but with such a small amount of information maybe it should have been spread across 2 discs. I watched my superbit tears of the sun last night and it was average of 6-7mb per second, i realise saving private ryan isn't superbit but there's nothing on disc one but the film, 1-2mb per second seems very low to me or am i wrong?
