Satellite Engineer Required

Hi Guys,

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place but I am after the services of a Satellite Engineer who is prepared to mount a motorised dish within the Worcestershire area. Most people I have spoken to on the phone seem to prefer the fixed LNB approach....is this the way things are going or am I just unlucky in the area in which I live?

Thanks

No, they just don't know how to do it, we install lots of motorised up here- that's the main thing we do or big stuff and get lots of 'installers' who can't go beyond a sky dish & Sky / Freesat or just know Hotbird & possibly Astra1, let alone motorised & 30-40 satellites & we get paid to put a lot right too.

You really have to make sure you get someone who knows their stuff, not someone who is more used to sky dishes & aerials, there's a lot to get right... survey, dish makes/ LNBs/ motors/ brackets/ cable/ receivers ..

I'll have a look who we know in your area....

Thanks Pedro. That's the bit that concerns me, "making sure they know their stuff". I think Erdington (birmingham) was the closest I found. That was via what sat mag. If your not geographically sure where I am in relation to your research just let me know the contacts and I can do the ringing around. I am in Worcester but anyone in Worcestershire should suffice.

I was going to say forget CAI for motorised as they are usually Aerial & Sky etc & the same problems... and that is the case in those that cover that area...

Well... until I saw that Uplink Services were on there... :smashin:

Don't think you would want to pay their bill and they aren't actually in the DTH or the dth motorised business either but you might just get one of their engineers who is keen to do it in his spare time...

There's a 1.8m on what looks like a 3m ground mount in their job pictures.... (we do that)- would love to put a load gauge on the pole and compare :D....

and that NP roof mount... and that one in Lisbon ... don't you want one of them instead... (rx)
