sat/tv/dab socket NEED HELP PLEASE

Hello to all, newbie here

can any one help

I am connecting sky digi box to socket, the socket is a 3 socket? tv/sat/dab. the socket has a circuit board on the back, with just the sky cable comming in.
I am connecting through a communal aerial, this is working correctly.
the socket is the problem.
no sat signal being recieved. can i change the socket to a normal sat socket?
or do i need the same socket just new?

I suspect that you are not allowed to touch the socket. Check with the building management company to ensure that the cable goes to a suitable dish system.

have checked, the dish is connected fine

i have changed the socket, and now have approx 60% signal strength

but still 'no sat signal being received'

? ? ? ?

your not by any chance on a channel that's not broadcasting at present, say bbc3? I've noticed this kind of message occasionally under those circumstances.
