i have a large apartment block behind be in my south sky and i ve tried raising my dish but cannot get anything west of 19 e although when i put my sat meter on i can get the buzzing from the sats to the west of 19 but no pic is this the meter telling me the sats are there but cant get them because of the apartment block orshould i get them if it buzzes cheers

If you are using an analogue meter , then it will only put you "in the right ball park" (even with FSD)

Digital meters are more accurate, and erm.. more pricey.

A bigger dish may help, too.
 
The angle of elevation for Milan is about 38 degrees for hotbird.

So if the flats are 100m form your dish then you should have a clear line of sight to the satellite if the flats are no more than 78 metres higher than the height of your dish.

That would give an angle of approximately 60 degrees, so it would seem you are out of luck.

so approximately how high would i have to go up to get over the flats my dish is about a metre off the ground level at the moment cheers
