Hi folks
I have built an HTPC based on a Foxconn AM2 m/b, Athlon 4200 dual core, 1M/B DDR2, DTT tuner, Satellite card, running Media Center 2005 patched up-to-date. I also have DVBviewer installed
Everything seems to work quite well, but I just cannot get any audio through the HDMI connection from the above video card - Although the video from the DTT tuner is fine through both MediaCenter 2005 and DVBviewer (but this has not been patched/or had any pluggins loaded).
I downloaded the latest drivers for the m/b and the videocard - but that did not make any difference.
Device Manager reports no problems with any of the installed hardware.
Have plugged an HDMI feed from a DVD player into the same sockets on the TV (Tosh 32WLT58) and the audio there is fine.
Any basic (like REALLY basic!) ideas as to what might be the cause of the problem?
Is there any other s/w /codecs that I need to have loaded before this will work?
Note: I have currently given the machine to my local computer shop (who are pretty good on most points!) and am waiting for them to see what, if anything, they can find - but this will be their first play with an HDMI card so they are not sure quite where to start apart from checking that the m/b and O/S are OK.
Thanks in advance.
John
