I'll be buying my first Projector in the fall of this year.. I was going with the Sanyo Z3 because of the fact it's +- 120$ cheaper (in Europe that is) + you get a 3 years warranty (AE700 = 1 year)

though.. The Panasonic AE 700 uses a smooth technique, which makes the screen door effect (you can see the space between pixels) very hard too see.. the Sanyo Z3 on the other hand doesn't have this

I don't sit that far from my screen, that's why I'm worried.. my PJ stands on a distance of 13 feet.. I'll be sitting 10 feet away from the screen.. will I see screendoor effect with the Sanyo Z3? Panasonic AE 700?

As long as you make the image no more than 7ft wide you should be OK with either. You can always slightly defocus the Z3 anyway which, some say, is akin to the smoothscreen...PJ :)

I don't get any 'screendoor' from my Z3 on my 103" screen, watched from about 15 feet. And I sure as hell have mine as focused as possible.

    Regards

I sit about 10-12ft from my screen (203cm wide) and can't see any screen door on my Z2, and I could see loads with my AE100. I have it focussed as sharp as poss too. I don't think screen door is an issue any more with 720p projectors.

I have a Z3 beaming approx. 10 feet giving me a 77" diagonal image size.

Viewing from 10 - 15 feet away I can't notice any screendoor effect.

I also have mine focused as sharp as possible.

the lower the resolution is of your incoming source, the more chance you have for getting SDE? Like 640x400 for example, 480i games? you'll see SDE ?

No, that is not correct. SDE is a product of the physical spacing of the pixels in your projector. Source material can't change this attribute of your PJ.
