    Hi,

Well after spending a fair amount of time watching my new projector I noticed that since ceiling mounting the projector I am suffering from the fan blower effect. The results of my tests show that the room temperature needs to be <= 20 deg C or else it spins up about every 20 mins. It does not however seem to suffer if on a table. It seems that the rising warm air collecting at the ceiling is enough to trigger the fan.

Has anyone got any clarification on getting a newer firmware update to prevent this. I would sacrifice lamp life as a result if it not likely to bust any other components.

    Any thoughts,

    Nick.

Have you tried emailing/phoning sanyo direct? Would prolly be the best bet.

Mine's been running for 35 hours now....not one speed up:confused:

    Smurfin,

Have you got yours ceiling mounted yet?

My amps tend to heat the room as the film progresses, and the heat layer gently drifts down from the ceiling.

If so have you had any issues with this or does Sanyo have this firmware upgrade in the market place?

And (to add a spanner in the works) could this firmware be a potential bulb lifespan shortener (if they've upped the tolerances on the thermostat)?:)

No idea on the lamp life, although I doubt it.

My PJ is mounted on the ceiling - in a cradle. The sides are quite restrictive but I've still not witnessed any speed-up. Maybe mine has the new firmware?

    Hi,

I have been suffering from a busted ankle as such found my time has been severely taken up just trying to do everyday things like get around. I will do it this weekend and post up ASAP, still there and show no sign of falling down yet.

    Nick.
