    Hi All,

Replaced my Z2 lamp today. Lamp life was 1400 hours before it popped. Was used on eco mode all the time. Darkness set in on 1300 hours, then it decided enough was enough on 1400 !

So much for 3000 hours. Didnt even get 50% of projected life !

Great projector, but not impressed with life span of lamp.

I believe if the projector manufacturers say that the bulb should last 3000 hrs in their projector then they should gaurentie it. Simple as that.

Nah, Sanyo themselves are very critical about the way a bulb is treated during it's life; maybe interesting to hear from the OP about any unexpected cold-starts / power downs.

Only once in it's life was the projector powered off without a normal shutdown - this was due to a powercut. The temperature of the room where the projector was positioned was also sound as to prevent any overheating issues.

The Z2 was positioned 50cm from the wall as well, so all the sanyo recommendations were met.

On average the projector would be used for about 2 hours per day and would only be powered off / on once, again to prevent shortening the life of the lamp.

Basically great care was taken of the Z2.

Anyone else replaced their Z2 lamp yet ?

Do you have a surge/spike protector and power cleaner, like the belkin AV one. As i've heard the the bulbs can pop early because of power spikes, otherwise you might have just got a duff bulb.
