Sanyo PLV-Z1 arrived. Set up tips required

    Hi the projector arrived today and I would just like to ask a few questions on setting up. I am running a HTPC for dvd playback and am having some trouble setting custom resolutions in powerstrip. I set the resolution to 967x544 (I said 966 but powerstrip changed it) as this is the res of the projector. The problem is that it cuts off some of the screen at the right hand side. I also am unsure as to what aspect to set the custom res to. Any help would be apreciated.

    I have also just noticed a large green circle shape that is on the right middle of the image. Any ideas what this is and how to get rid of it?

    Hi

    If you completely defocus your projector, you might be able to see the marks more clearly.

    A colleague of mine had exactly this problem and was told to return his projector to Sanyo for replacement. I believe someone else on this group has reported the same problem.

    Yes. I think it is a dust spot. You can apparantly easily remove them using some compressed air, but you have to remove the lid to do this.
