Sanyo Connection probs

Help !....

I have a Sanyo projector which supports DVI...

and a newley purchased HAMA sacrt to vga 5m cable so I can get RGB formt he pioneer freeview box direct to the projector..it supports RGB out on the scart.

but how can I get the vga cbale into the projector ?.

I tried a video card dvi<>vga adaptor last night (it came with my pc video card).but no joy.....

What can I do ?

You've been in the menu and told it to look for analogue RGB on the DVI port? They are a bit funny about this whole thing, keep fiddling/trying. It should work, I have the manual in front of me, it says it's all compatible.
