Sandisk 2gb gaming vs 2gb ultra

Hello all,

Wondering if anyone can help, I know that the Sandisk m/s are massively faster than the Sony's but my questions is how much faster is the Sandisk ultra than the Sandisk gaming.

I know that the performance while playing is the same, but I'm more concerned with how long it takes to copy a large file (say a gig) onto each of the above. If there's not a lot in it then I'll not bother spending the extra £20 to get an ultra

Cheers

According to MyMemory.co.uk

"SanDisk Ultra II Memory Stick PRO DUO operates at lightening speeds of up to 10MB per second. Transfer your files faster!"

"The SanDisk Gaming line turns a handheld game device into a multimedia entertainment unit. These memory cards have been designed for use in the new Sony PSP but are fully compatible with all Memory Stick PRO / PRO DUO digital cameras and other devices."

Doesn't give the speed though, but the Gamer is cheaper.

cheers

actually found something on another website that measured tfr times from pc to the sandisk 2gb ultra vs sandisk 2gb vs. sony 2gb.

Basically the sony is rubbish both in read and write terms. The standard sandisk is 50% faster to write than the sony, and the ultra is a further 30% faster again.

Basically you can copy a 750mg file onto the ultra in just under 2mins!
