Samsung Y Main, Y upper, Y lower Questions

So I got a free JVC PD-42X776 TV, and I'm trying to diagnose the issue. The bottom half of the screen has massive red snow and some black. The are is more concentrated in one area than the rest of the panel. I played with all the tunable pots and I could make the screen change, but nothing got better. After doing some research I found out that there are 2 boards, an upper and a lower that drive teh coorsponding halves of the screen. There is also a main board that builds the power I'm guessing and the upper and lower boards do the DSP. So, my question: The DSPs on the lower are getting extremely hot (all 4 of them) and the TV actually shuts off after a while (I'm guessing overheating). Does anyone know of a common failure on these boards? There are not any obvious blown caps or ICs....

Thanks :)
