    Hi all,

I had a Samsung UE49KS7000 but my dad cracked the screen when moving it (I know).

I know this is now discontinued but which Samsung TV is the closest to this one that I can buy now? The picture was outstanding on this TV so I’d like to be one as similar as possible.

    Thank you in advance.

    Q7F (2017) or Q7FN (2018)

Try not to buy a 2018 model right now if you can help it, they will be pretty overpriced. It would be better to wait for prices to go down a bit.

I will definitely be waiting for prices to drop. I thought maybe they would have an older model similar to my older one, I don’t necessarily need the newest TV, just one that matches my UE49KS7000 in terms of display quality

The problem is timing right now, ask this question two months ago and the Samsung 49Q7F or Sony 49XE9005 would probably still be available at a good price.

Now they have sold out leaving us with only the Sony 49XF9005 from this year's range. The new Samsung Q7FN is 55 inch plus. Prices on these being new models is pretty high but will drop over time. Black Friday is usually the first time the serious discounts come in whilst buying a clearance model in spring or summer next year will see the prices at their lowest before they sell out.

Are you limited to 49"? If you go 55" that opens up better Samsung models like the Q8DN and Q9FN that are worth keeping an eye on. The Q7FN isn't quite as good as the Sony XF9005, which is also available at 55" but it's not bad either.

There are a few 49” Q7Fs left. But whether there are any nearby is unknown. Richer Sounds still had some.

But yes, not a great time to buy.

Is the MU7000 comparable to the KS7000?

It doesn't get as bright with HDR or have the quantum dot backlight so no. KS7000 is more similar to Q7F.

Thank you. I will just have to dig deep for some patience for the price drop...

The Q7F is the 2017 variant and may be hard to find now. It's replacement is the Q7FN, a new model which is currently over priced having just been released.

The Q6 lacks the brightness so isn't comparable.

Have you seen the specs? They are comparable.

Do not confuse the ks8000/9000 specs to the 7000.

@DB9506 you mean you trust Samsung's specs? Trust me the Q6 is not comparable. It's roughly 50% dimmer with HDR in small windows.

    Never judge on manufacturer specs.

For info - Samsung gave me a Q7C in place of a KS7500 so they clearly believe it matches it spec wise. I was not even offered a Q6.

KS7000 is Uhd premium certified. The Q6 is not, whereas the Q7 is.

Look beyond Samsung’s HDR ranking and the Q6 is not on a par with the KS range. It’s not far off, but Q7 is closest on a spec for spec level.

These are Samsung specs and are incorrect.
