Hi, I wasn't sure which section suits this post best as one of them is 40 inch monitor while the other is a 48 inch curved TV.
I'm looking for a wall mountable display to be used in an enclosed area between two sets of wardrobes (1 either side). For this reason viewing angles aren't much of an issue. Viewing distance is 3ft when using the PC and 10ft when sat back to watch a movie.
I've read that:
- Philips monitor only does 4k through display port. The PC isn't going to be used for gaming often and only has a built in 5000 series integrated graphics chipset as part of an i5 CPU. The motherboard is an Asus Z87-Plus which does say "Supports Mini DisplayPort with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz"
- Samsung TV has a PC mode which is good for lower latency but is only 1080p, so no 4k.
I know it's often difficult to choose a product like this when my needs are to both use it as a regular TV and a monitor too. I'm looking for something that I can hook a Sky box up to for shows and movies and also use as a primary PC monitor. I may end up using my old 15 inch widescreen pc monitor as a second monitor if someone else wants to watch a movie while I work, but the resolution is terrible on that one so I wouldn't like to use it all the time.
Can anybody advise either way?
Thank you
