I am purchasing a new TV for my parents and one of the main requirements is being able to display jpg photos stored on SD cards. The model I like is the Samsung UE40ES5500:
Samsung UE40ES5500 | 40 inch LED TV 1080p HD Ready Freeview HD | Richer Sounds
This model does not have memory card slots, however it has a USB slot. Has anyone tried using an SD>USB adapter with this model of TV, similar to that of:

I am nervous to purchase online without having confirmation that this will work with this model of TV.
