Hi,

I've been researching tv's prior to buying one for my new place and ended up with a shortlist of:

samsung UE40C652 (possibly variation like UE40C6000 or 6510)
Sharp 40LE821 (could be variation like 811)
panasonic TX-P42G20

Please help to decide which one to go for or throw in any other suggestions (bearing in mind size - no bigger than 42; and price - up to £800 but preferably £700)

cheers

Edge-lit LED TV's are LCD TV's with LED lights around the edge of the picture.

The advantage is that they are very slim but the quality of the TV picture isn't any better than a modern LCD (which is a slightly thicker TV).

You are paying more for an edge-lit TV because the TV is very slim.

If you watch an LED with the lights down then you can often see the lights around the edge behind the picture. People describe them as cones of light.
