Samsung UBD-K8500 vs Panasonic DMP-UB400

I have a Samsung UBD-K8500, which I got as part of the package when I bought my KS8000 TV. It works OK but its a bit clunky in operation, sometimes losing the plot when a 4K blu-ray is paused and, whilst the picture is OK, there is no sense of 'Wow' when playing 4K HDR disks.

I've been toying with the idea of changing it for a Panasonic DMP-UB400 but on reading the reviews there doesn't seem to be a huge difference between them. So I thought I would ask here if anyone has any views on whether the change would be worthwhile, or not?

Thanks for any input.

Both are of a similar age. Neither support HDR10+ or DV but neither does you TV. I doubt you will see any or much difference either way. If you upgrade your TV some time in the future then a more current player would probably be worthwhile update if it supports the newer HDR versions.

Panasonic UB300 owner.
