    Samsung TV Screen Fault?
Does anyone know the technical name for it?

As you can see its dark at top and fades down to around halfway, unplugging set from mains restores to normal picture until one switches it on again from standby.

Above is the fault on a bright background when its at its most severe, after unplugging it seems to clear but after several hours it starts to flicker between normal and darker of the whole screen also had a weird sound problem where volume controls stop working all together unplugging mains only way to fix, its a John Lewis supplied TV so not worried about the fix ( if there is one ) but if its a Samsung known fault is it all samsungs that has it going forward the TV is a 55inch 6800 NANO?

TVRS Scotland came and picked it up says its the backlight panel and control board, how much would that cost, JL says if over £500 to repair they will replace but with what, m7000 or QLED as the 6800 was a quantum dot 8bit job?
