Hi I'm from Portugal and I have the Samsung SP50l7HX. I read in a post earlier that changing gamma settings to 1 gives best image! This is correct?
I have receiver yamaha rx-v2600 with upscalling which I use to upscale cable tv. The image is very good but wih live football games the image freezes a litle. I don´t know what is the problem...
My dvd player is Denon 1920. If I read in earlier threads tha is better to switch off the scaller of the dvd player and let th samsund do the scalling?
What are your picture settings (colour, contrast, etc) ? Standard or cinema mode? ETC
    Sorry so much questions!!!
Any help increasing my picture quality will be much apreciated!

    Cheers
    Miguel

    Thank you Jordan!
Concerning the Gamma settings the factory setting is 2. You reccommend changing to 1?

Usually I have my tv on:
    standard mode
    Warm colours 1
Contrast 70 (I didn´t notice any rainbow effect yet)
    brightness 57
    Sharpness 25
    colour 50

Do you think is worth playing with My colour menu? Here I reduce green tint to 0 and left blue and pink at 50.

If the other owners put here your settings it would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

Get a copy of DVE to get the colour balance right - it's kinda hard to do accurately by eye.

I managed to get one copy to try during th weekend! Thank you for the advice!

Do you think is better do the calibration without changing factory gamma settings (2) or change to 1 or 0?

    Hi Miguelcarvalho,

have you tried http://www.htpcnews.com/ ? They have an excellent guide on ffshow processing for upscalling DVDs via players such as ZoomPlayer.

Have tried this myself and noticed great results on the old Epson LCD front projector, can't wait to see results when I get my new LCD next month!

Word of warning though, is quite a processor hungry application/setup.

    Good luck.
