Samsung SP50L7HX Motion Artifacts

I have been using this set with my Philips DVP5900 upscaling DVD player through the HDMI connection and have been noticing some problems in panning scenes (especially when the DVD is upscaled to 720p or 1080i), where there is less than smooth motion.
Looking at the TV's specs; it mentions 3:2 pulldown, film mode etc.
But I believe film mode is not available on the HDMI input.
It is apparent on Region 2 @ 50Hz and Region 1 @ 60Hz.
Are there any settings on the TV which I can enable/disable to get smoother panning when watching DVD's?

Worth checking that DNIe is OFF, since DNIe can introduce some motion artifacts/blurring.

I will defiantely try that, as DNIe is ON at the moment.
Any other suggestions as I think there may be another reason for it also.
I don't see this jittery panning from other sources, i.e. Xbox360, Freeview, and DNIe is on for them too.
I will try DVD playback through Xbox360 though and look for it.
