So I've been thinking about buying a DLP TV for some months now. Was originally going to go for the Toshiba 46WM48 but got put off by the bad reports on here. My question is: Is it worth waiting for the replacement model for this set from Toshiba (46WMT58; HD4, 2x HDMI, integrated Freeview tuner, due August/ September, cost???) or should I go for the new Samsung SP46L6HX?

    Anyone any thoughts?

From a quick scan on the web the down side of the Tosh for me is the large speakers on the side. It says a slim bezel for the larger models, why don't thry do that for the 46"

Of course, if you wait for the Toshiba, then by September they'll probably be another new TV available soon or just announced, for example the Samsung 1080 models. Unless 2 HDMI sockets is important to you, then I'd go with the Samsung. The specs look very similar to me.

Thanks. I spoke to Toshiba today about the 46WMT58. They told me that it was now tentatively due in October and would cost at least a couple of hundred quid more than the current model. I can't wait that long, nor do I want to pay more than is necessary so I've ordered the Samsung instead.
