My new Sammy arrived today and I got it all set up. As sooon as my wife and son started watching they saw more rainbows than Judy Garland. Neither of them noticed this in the shop prior to buying.

It was bought online from Comet so we have 7 days to return it.

Is it likely to get any better or am I set to accept defeat and look elsewhere. An LCD maybe?

Exactly what happend to me. There's no amount of demoing you can do in the shop that will reveal whether you're going to be susceptible or not, only until you get it home and start to use it under normal viewing conditions. You could try living with it for a few days, or at least up until the 7 day period to see if it improves, be careful not to throw away any packaging though just in case you do return it.

    Same problem as me.

    Demo'd and purchased a Sony KDFE50A12U 3LCD set instead.

    Cheers

I've just rung Comet and arranged for them to swap it for the Sony. Hopefully we'll be happy with that.

Sent it back after a few days and a few months later bought myself an LCD. Unfortunately as I bought it at Makro I had to pay for delivery both from there and back myself which ended up costing £70  but at least I found out that current DLP technology wasn't for me.

I'm sure you will be, have you had a look at the two big Sony threads?

    Cheers
