Hi, was searching the internet for reviews of rear projection tv's when i found this site. I thought I'd ask for your advice, I'm interested in buying a rear projection tv and came across this one
Does anyone have any opinions on it or could give me any advice when it comes to choosing which one to buy, I'm totally confused by a lot of it as different companies have their own technologies and in the end they all mean nothing to me as there's that many of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to buy the wrong thing and be stuck with it.

This is not a DLP TV, hence you're unlikely to get a response on here.

Please re-post over on the general TV forum.

Good luck with your intended purchase.

    My budget is below £1000.
What's the difference between a dlp tv and this one?

You get what you pay for, as you can see the tv you picked is approx half the price of the other lcd rear pro sets. I wouldn't expect much.
Try a toshiba lcd for under £1000. the picture is not great but it would be better than the samsung.

Demo them both, neither would be better than a DLP set.

I've a 28" widescreen CRT at the minute that cost me around £300, would it not be worth the upgrade if I bought that Samsung? How would the picture quality compare?

I suspect the picture off a £300 crt widescreen would not be the best. I recommend you to take a few dvd's down to your local dixon/currys and try the set out for yourself to see if you can notice the difference.

Good luck I hope you find what your looking for.
