Samsung smart pvr stb-e7500m question!

Hi all,
I have just brought a new Samsung pvr and Want to take advantage if the freeview jd channels. Unfortunately my HDTV that I am running it on is an early lg (think its rlz-32 or something like that) and only has the following inputs....
Component, two scart, dvi, rs-232, s video, and RF.
I have tried a hdmi to dvi lead and the quality doesn't improve.
Can anyone tell me if these hdmi to component converters work? And which one is best value for money I they do?

I would really appreciate some help here!

Thanks

I would have expected some quality improvement using an hdmi -> dvi converter over scart. What resolution(s) have you tried?

In the past, I've used a 3dfury2 to convert hdmi to component and it worked really well, but this will only handle video, not audio, so you'll need to handle that via a separate audio connection. Before spending any money though I'd fully check-out the hdmi -> dvi side of things.

Thanks for th reply. After looking at my setup properly instead of hastily, I have got hd working through the dvi interface. The best resolution I can achieve is 1080i. 1080p is not supported by my tv. Also in my haste, I failed to notice that I was plugging my audio cable into the female 3.5 jack that was meant for the rs232. I have now corrected this. Unfortunately the layout of the connections is non to ergonomic on these early lg hdtv's.
Thanks for the help!
