    Any reviews/info on this?

Ive seen it in Micro Anvika for £250.

I was quite keen on the SM226BW but i saw it in a shop playing the rugby and at the start of the game during the national anthems the cameraman did a pan across all the players as they stood in a line and the jerkiness of the players as they moved across the screen was absolutely terrible..

I was hoping this new display might be a bit better.

I had a look at it in PC World yesterday and it's pretty good. Reckon ill buy one. OCUK is cheaper by £15 but costs about £10 for delivery so i think ill pick one up from PCWorld on the way home from work for £250. No-one else seems to stock them.

I'm really interested in this one too!

I'm currently using a 32" Samsung LCD for my PC but it's a bit too big and is limited to 1360x768. I think a slightly smaller screen with a higher res would suit me better and put less strain on my eyes too.

This monitor matches the look of my LCD so I could put them side by side and use dual displays - sounds good to me! Did anyone pick one up? Any early feedback? I've noted the res is 1680x1050 rather than 1900x1200, is that much of a deal? I'm guessing 1680x1050 on a 22" is more than ample?

I've just found it on Pixmania to for £226 +£7.60 for delivery, so £233.60. Oooh I'm so so tempted. *slaps hand as it reaches for credit card*

*EDIT* I've just noticed as well that the 20" version of the same monitor is some £60 cheaper. It seems to have the same res and indeed the same spec, only 2" smaller in size? Is it worth paying the £60 extra for the 2" more? Thoughts?

I've been using the SM2232BW for a week now and it's great! I'm very very happy with my purchase and would easily recommend it.

I've just ordered one from Ebuyer too. Should arrive tomorrow. I will post comments on it in this thread once i've used it a bit but it looks like a really good screen for a really good price in my opinion.

guys, can you please tell what is technical difference between SM2232BW and SM226BW. Both state 2ms response time.

Is there real quality difference between them.

And if anyone knows - what is the difference between 226BW and CW ?

    Thank you

No difference apart from the increased colour gamut. The rest of the panel should be identical. It was rumoured that all of these panels would be manufactured by Samsung, so you avoid the panel lottery of the 226BW. However this has not been confirmed.

    Thanks for the advice.

Ok now I have read about 'panel lottery'..

Can anyone please explain what chances to get S-panel in 226BW, 226CW and 2232BW?

Is there Samsung 20-22" monitor with guaranteed S-panel?

Is there better panels than S?

    :lease:

I want to buy a good monitor. I have 205BW (which is not bad but not the best one, and still slow in response - I watch movies sometimes) and 171T which is much better that 205 but not wide and very slow.

I had the 226BW twice and it has too much blue in it... I've heard the CW226 also has issues with being too red. I'd really like a decent 22inch monitor that looks nice as well as performs well. Is this the one? Anyone got it and can tell us?

I said in my last post I would put some comments on here, so here goes:

    Purchased from: Ebuyer.com

Price: £214.99 (inc vat and shipping).

    Expected use: Gaming.

Packaging: Excellent, no chance of damage even if the courier is care free.

Overall look of monitor: Looks really modern. It has a black gloss finish with a very simple (but slightly difficult to install) stand and base. The stand attaches to the bottom of the screen, unlike some that attach at the back and take up a lot of room this takes up very little depth.

Picture quality: In my opinion this combination of monitor size and resolution works really well for a PC. Text whilst surfing the tinterweb is easily to read (unlike my 17" 1920x1200 laptop screen). Games look brilliant. I've tried ET:QW, Bioshock, UT2004, Eve Online, FEAR, and Command & Conquer 3. The contrast is good and there's virtually no ghosting. The image is really clear. Another thing I like about this monitor is the brightness. I've used screens where the brightness is far too much but more annoying is when a screen is too dark and you miss part of some images (stares at laptop again)

The only downside I have for this monitor is that there is light leakage from all 4 sides when displaying a black, or very dark screen. However, this leakage is significantly reduced when anything is displayed on the screen. Whilst watching a movie or playing a game you don't notice it at all.

Conclusion: I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone who wants a 22" screen, plays a lot of games and watches movies on their PC, and who has a budget of 200-250.

Disclaimer: These are my own opinions, please don't start arguing with me in this thread.

    Will

Just set mine up but had terrible problems fitting the base.
Mine appears to tilt slightly to the right and when I went to try and straighten it, the screw in the bottom came undone and the screen nearly hit the deck.
    Luckily I caught it.

Have no idea why they have made the base this way but it seem s very unstable.

Any advice would be welcome in case I have done something wrong.

I agree with markeddy on that one, getting the screen onto the stand is quite the task. I could have sworn I was doing it wrong but with enough force it finally seemed to get on and stay on.

does it work when connected via VGA? you could check the source button or check in the menu if it is set to DVI or auto.

Ive just gone and ordered one of these from Dabs £218 inc delivery (Special 9-12am special last night with free delivery). The price had gone up at Ebuyer and Dabs was the cheapest I could find. This monitor better be good. It seemed a better buy than the 226bw & cw. I'll keep my fingers crossed and post a review on here once received, set up and tested.:clap::clap::clap::clap:

    226 CW Contrast Ratio = 3000:1 Dynamic, Static 1000:1
    226 BW 3000:1 Dynamic and 800:1 Static
so CW has a better contrast ratio.

    I saw it on http://www.digiuk.com/productdetail.asp?id=11659

it says - panel A-SI. Is that infamous A-panel ? And price is pretty low. Also ebuyer and dabs have nearly same price.

Does that mean that SM2232 is not safe in sence of 'panel lottery' any more. Or clearly it is not S-panel.

    is that right ?

The stand does require some head scratching to attach, but this monitor is one of the nicest ive seen in terms of aesthetics.

Picture quality to me is very good for its pricepoint - no dead pixels, no excessive backlight bleeding, and vibrant colours - a lot better than my old viewsonic.

After spending a grand on a new PC setup I can honestly say the £220 made the biggest difference to my gaming experience. I play a lot of FPS games (etqw atm) and there is no issue with ghosting that my eyes can see.

If you're going to get a 22" samsung, this should be your first choice. I actually had ordered a different 22" samsung but luckily called up and changed my order after finding this one - in fact I changed my mind 3 times! Overclockers really have got good customer service.
