Samsung Series 6 JU6400 VS Panasonic TX-50CX680B

Hi, I am debating what TV to go for out of the 2 above. Which one would you have and why?

The Samsung model has built in Bluetooth and the Panasonic one does not, but it doesn't really matter too much about that unless the Samsung tv has other good features that I have missed. I am just wondering what the Movie playback for Xvid, MKV etc, is like on both tvs. Does the Panasonic play most formats or is it fussy? I currently have a LG smart TV and even though it plays most video formats, you can not stream SRT subs with the video. It only works when you put the video/SRT on a usb, then subs work. I am guessing the Samsung will have a good range of most video playback. Does any tv support ISO playback?

Thanks, will be looking out for a reply in what TV to go for. Overall the best one

Sorry to jack this thread, but i am currently debating on the same question. I'm in the process of buying a 4K TV and these 2 are in my shortlist. Going to wait till the end of January though, so other options may appear in the meantime. Would love to get some answers.

I had a Samsung 48JU6000 delivered last week and it's going back to be exchanged for a Panasonic TX-50CX680B.

The Samsung has terrible motion judder. It's easily noticeable watching normal TV, and is my main focus when watching a Blu-ray that I can't concentrate on the film. They play very jerky when panning left to right or up and down at 24p and not really any better at 50p or 60p. I tried all of the different settings and the Movie mode, but nothing helped.

Even when watching 4K on Amazon panning is a bit jerky, cars going across the screen do the same...

Fingers crossed the Panasonic's better!

Hope you have better luck with the Panny.

I was considering the 680 or the 700 myself but as I've now faffed about so long I decided to see what CES has to offer. No doubt this time next year I'll be doing the same thing having still not made my mind up.

Both good TVs from research I have done - provide mix of performance/value.

UE48JU6400
- Samsung UE48JU6400 review and best prices | S21

50CX680B
- Panasonic TX-50CX680B review and best prices | S21
- Panasonic TX-40CX680B review

Of the two I was leaning towards the Panasonic which is £629.99 at moment based on reviews, with the UE48JU6400 around £599.99.

Other options I considered (still am) are:
- 50CX700B - £749.99 so more expensive and only via Currys, not sure the extra £120 worth it
- UE50JU6800 - £699.99 with great reviews but 60hz panel
- UE48JU7000 - £899.99 seems to be best 48" option available but at a price
- 50CX802B - £1099.99 best 50" option but again at a significant price

Last 2 also seem to have the HDR update available to them I believe. I am still debating it all and going round in circles. Seeing what CES brings and what it does to prices at end of Jan.

Hi Littlemike, I have the Samsung 48JU6000 UHD tv and have not noticed any Judder at all on my tv. Been watching sport and fast action movies, its been nice and smooth in motion. I am coming from having a Plasma tv so would of noticed the difference if there was any. Really pleased with my tv

Hi. Have you watched any Blu-rays? They were the worst. It's was when the screen panned up and down or left to right that I noticed it -you have to watch the back ground of the picture.

My Panasonic's a lot better than the Samsung was, but it still does it a bit.

I have read that some people don't notice the judder too.

Hi Littlemike, yes I mainly only watch Blurays. I did some tests for Judder one movie I know that shows up Judder on a few tvs I have watched is called Gran Torino, at the beginning a man in the church gets up and walks across the screen that gives Judder but on my Samsung 48Ju6000 the motion is smooth that pleased me. I watched Southpaw Bluray last night and no Judder on that. I have been looking out for Judder in the back ground too but all has been ok.
I a sure you I would be the first to take my tv back if I did have problems but I have been very pleased with the purchase of this tv.
