Samsung R7 series Picture in Picture question

Guys,

My neighbour has a 40" Samsung R7 series LCD. He is struggling to get PIP to work with this. The Owner manual gives limited setups for PIP. What he really wants is Sky (non-HD) as one of the PIP displays.
Has anyone used a RS232 (from the sky box) to HDMI lead to make this work - or is this impossible??

Any help appreciated :lease:

If he is not SKY HD (ie HDMI) then one of his pips is just RGB scart. Which is fine.
Probably depends on his other source.

I use VGA (media centre) and RGB and it works fine.

PS My model is Samsung LE40M61...but think the R7x are similar in spec.

Thanks,
I believe the issue is that PC as the main source allows other options - eg RGB scart, as you say.
The problem comes when he wants to have Sky or any analogue signal as main picture and any thing else as sub.
So unless you have PC (as you have) or maybe hdmi connected upscaling dvd as the main picture then you are stuffed.
Unless of course someone knows otherwise or there is a clever cable out there.....
