Samsung QE65Q60A & Sony Amplifier

Recently purchased a Samsung QE65Q60A TV and am trying to match it with an existing Sony Amplifier (STR-DH820)

Connections made are HDMI eArc from TV to Arc on back of the Amp
HDMI from PS4 to back of Amp

Problem:
No matter what i do i am unable to get the TV sound through the Sony surround system. PS4 works fine?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thinking I may have to revert to Optical from the TV to the Amp BUT is that likely to affect the sound from the PS4?

If you go for an optical connection then you will lose any HD audio that is played on the PS4 and be restricted to lossy SD Dolby Digital 5.1 as a maximum. Only eARC is capable of allowing HD audio to pass through but the Sony amp must also be eARC capable, otherwise the eARC on the TV will revert to bog standard HDMI which again is only capable of SD audio.
