Hello all!

I bought a Samsung q900a soundbar, connected like this :apple tv 4K ->to q900a hdmi port 1 -> to hdmi arc TV and I have a question:

When i turn off the soundbar, i lose all signal from the apple tv, no audio and no video on my TV.
I need to have soundbar on all the time to get the Apple TV signal

It's annoying because I don't need to have the soundbar on all the time, just to watch some movies.

If all connected to TV hdmi port like this: soundbar to TV hdmi arc and appleTV to TV hdmi port, it's ok but I lose the audio effects :(

I thought the soundbar was passthrough and letting the apple tv signal through even if the bar was turned off.

Did I missing something or do have soundbar on all the time?

Thanks and sorry for that dumb question, and my poor english :censored:

Soundbar - no mention of HDMI Standby PassThru in the User Manual.

ATV 4K - a couple of options:

1. Connect ATV 4K > TV then TV ARC to Soundbar ARC. Which TV do you have?

2. Connect ATV 4K > 1x2 HDMI Distribution Amp and connect that to the Soundbar and TV.

Hi,

Damn I misunderstood about passthru, maybe all comes from there:facepalm:

1. It's ok, but losen audio effects. An old Hisense TV, h55mec5650.

2. that's maybe the answer! I'll think about buying one

Thanks
