Hey people, wanted to make a new thread as i think ive now narrowed by choices down to the following 2 Tv's:

    1) Samsung PS51E550

    2) Panasonic TX-P50UT50B

i wont bore you all with what i think are the pros or cons for each TV, instead please tell me lol

Budget wise these 2 tv's are on point with £7-£800 being the max i would like to spend, however if a better tv (6500, or st50 ) would warrant an extra £100 being spent, this would be possible

I would like a full hd tv (has to be nowadays) and also want it to have 3d built in (again think i might aswell jump on that wagon) and has to be plasma (pretty much because the picture is still better than LED)

Also TPS are having a meet on 20/10/12 would it be better to wait until then?

    any help or advice appreciated

    cheers, all

Panasonic - gets an 'excellent' in the AV forum review

I think the Samsungs are more likely to buzz

both tvs will be great, both tvs can have problems, samsungs seem to have some tvs the buzz a bit much, and some suffer from brightness pops, thats not all vow you can get ones thats dont do any of this, other than that they can have common problems like banding, dse,
samsung seem better for iir over the panasonics, which there have been a few on here saying they have bed ir 15mins of football taking like 30mins to clear)

the panasonic will have better blacks, and can suffer from the same problems as above (not so much brighness pops) but this years models(st,gt,vt) seem to have alot of banding(or what ever its being called now) and also green blobs which was common on last years models and made people change over, some say they cant see any of this even know there set has it and some say theres does and has got worse.

the best thing is to go see them both in action if you can.
