Right, I have bought this model from Comet for £1499.99 and it gets delivered this Sunday.

I have read other members comments on various threads regarding this model and there quite a few good/bad comments.

Basically it was between the LG RZ-42PX11 and the Sammy but decided on the Sammy as the picture looked better, has tons of inputs and is HD capable.

I am going to hook it up to my DVD player with component (progressive) and use my high quality RGB scart to hook up the Sky+ box. DVD's will be played using my home cinema amp.

Not worried about playing games on it as use a different TV for that.

So you think I made a good choice or will I be disappointed?

And if anyone here has one, what are the best settings and does the picture improve with time (ie after running it in) as this plasma business is all new to me!! :)

Im sorry to say, but they are crap! Ive had nothing but trouble with them. Im on my second faulty screen now. engineer from comet is coming out today to view the fault, so hopfully he will write off the screen so i can get a refund. PQ from sky makes me cry! progressive dvd isnt too bad, and the pip function is a joke.

Could it be because you are just unlucky to have had faulty TV's?

    Thanks for the offer! :)

Was that John Lewis at Cribbs Causeway?

When I looked at the Samsung they had crappy connections so hopefully I can do better.

it may be HD capable but it certainly isnt "HD ready"................ i would be cautious of this models as it does seem problematic, personally the offer to see ukdans is priceless as if yours it not as good as you had hoped (for £1500) then its a lot easier to return one within the first few days than 2 months later when your at your wits end........they look very different once you get them home!

I had 2 of those samsung TVs, they both broke within 1-2 weeks of use. Plus the picture quality wasn't great. It handled motion very badly.

I got a refund and bought a Panasonic PWD6 which is infinitely better!
