Samsung or Sony lcd tv, any help appreciated

I am looking to buy a LCD tv for general tv viewing and dvd playing and the two I have been considering are the 40" Samsung LA 40B530 or the 40" Sony KDL 40V5500. They are about the same price, is one any better than the other.
