I have just moved to the UK and I am looking for my first LCD. I am only really looking for a 26" to use with Sky and an HTPC (DVDs, internet etc). My budget is about 900 pounds. I am very intrigued by the Samsung LE26R41B but also considering one of the new Sharp models. Any recommendations on these options? Anything else I should be considering?

Thanks in advance for all of your expert opinions.

i've heard of various 'tearing' problems with the samsung.
i just bought the sharp ga3 from richer sounds and it's fantastic - really great picture especially with HD.
it has DVI that supports HDCP so should be fine for sky hi def too.
of course you may want to wait for the newest model but i'm guessing it will cost a lot more than the £799 this one costs.

I have the LE26R41BD and am very happy with it. bought for 650. i'd see if you can view both somewhere. I think Currys have the samsung, but buy it online from someone like be-direct.

New models coming mid-late August. Maybe early Sept before there's sufficient nnumbers to supply all the retailers with stock.
