Hi all!

So richer sounds offered to price match a Samsung ue55nu8000 for £685ish.

Today they said I should look at the lg 55SK8100PLA as it would be a better purchase for the same price .

Thoughts as to which 55 inch screen I should go for with the same price? I have until Wednesday to decide.

I bought the Sony ubpx 700 4k bluray player to go with whatever tv and I have a Denon 2200 avr for my surround sound system.

I believe the Samsung 55NU8000 is a better choice with its VA panel. :)

.

That's what I would've thought but they said quality would be better with the LG because it's true 10 bit panel vs 8+2 which the Samsung is.

I'm still keen on the Samsung instead of this LG since it'll be the same price, just not sure why they were saying this.

Something about LG having Dolby Vision which my bluray player will have as well as the tvs nano cell technology.

Samsung has the VA panel, but the LG has the tru 10 bit along with Dolby Vision to go with my player.

Still should go for the Samsung???

Funny that their own site says it’s 8+2 -
LG 55SK8100PLA

Unless you need wide viewing angles then the Samsung is the better choice

Oh interesting you're right. Suppose the Samsung is the better option then!!!

Bit depth is really not important when it comes to HDR, if you want better HDR you need to look at TVs higher than the Samsung NU8000. It has okay HDR, just not fantastic.

Just noticed the Samsung doesn't allow 5.1 dts pass through arc.

Only allows Dolby 5.1. That's a bit disappointing!
