Has anyone managed to get a DVD player working with one of these Sammsung TV via the DVI input.

I have tried two, a Panny S97 and a Sammy HD850 via a DVI to HDMI lead and I get no picture.

According to Samsung the DVI input is HDCP so why wont it work ???.

I have a 17" Samsung LCDTV that is about 3 months old, It states on the box that the DVI connector is PC only. When it arrived I had to insert a CD-Rom with the Graphics Driver on it ?

Might be a red herring but you never know ?

    (Dredging up an old thread)

The answer to your question is that your TV doesn't support HDCP.

I received this from Samsung back in March:

This unit does not support HDCP, so as long as your DVD player does not
require an HDCP enabled TV, it should work.

Now, at the time their site did not claim HDCP support. Then, a few days later it was added and I asked about it again and was sent this reply:

We can confirm that the LW22A13 TV doesnot support DVI-HDCP. We
apologise for the conflicting information youhave received and thank
you for bringing this to our attention. We have passed this on to the
    Website controllers for action.

It's now July, and they have not corrected their website. As far as I can tell, the LW22A13WD does not and will not support any kind of HDTV. :thumbsdow :(
