Samsung LNA650 - DAC info?

Hello. First post here. I’ve had this question on my mind for a few years now. I run the Sony DVD player to the TV via HDMI, then audio out to the receiver via the RCA’s. Thinking of adding a DAC (DVD player does not have one) but it has me thinking.. how do I find out the specs of the DAC in the TV? I could not find any information. I’m sure the DAC specs aren’t exactly what people cared about when they bought these TVs. Any ideas? It’s a Samsung LNA650

Why not just take the audio from your DVD's SPDIF Coax output to your receiver?

Good question. The receiver is a 20 year old Yamaha. For some reason I get this high frequency fluttering noise when I listen to anything through the digital inputs. I’m guessing something’s wrong with the digital processing.

I think you'd be wasting your time and money buying an external DAC.
I doubt it will be noticeably better than using the audio out from your TV as you're doing at the moment.
