    Hi all,
    I'm quite a newbie, so be patient ;)
    I've a samsung le40n8 tv and a sony DAV-DZ260 dvd home theatre. I've currently have this setup:

    Xbox 360 --- hdmi ---> tv
    Nintendo Wii --- component ---> tv

    Can I get the 5.1 from the xbox (and eventually the dolby prologic II from wii) with this?

    Tv --- optical audio ---> dvd

    Or (sigh!) I have to connect the xbox to the player and tv in this way?

    Xbox 360 --- hdmi ---> tv
    Xbox 360 --- optical audio ---> dvd

    And then connect the tv to the dvd using an optical cable switch for the wii? (if this switch something real ;) )
    And, eventually, which is the correct setup to make the 5.1 work? I can choose from AFD Std, AFD multi, Pro Logic, PLII movie, PLII music, 2ch stereo, HP 2CH and HP Virtual. Which are the differences?
    Thank you!

    The Wii doesn't have a optical output and is incapable of 5.1 surround.

    For 5.1 from the xbox you have to connect to the 260 via optical. The TV's output will be stereo only (so you can use this for switching the Wii audio thru the TV). Optical switch is real!! Its auomatic ones that you can't get.

    AFD STD is the correct setting.

    Thank you for your answer.
    So I need some cables & hubs. ;)
    Just a note: I've tried "AFD STD" using the shipped XBOX360 cable, which has component and an optical audio port. I've attached all the component jacks to the TV and optical audio to the home theatre. Seemed that the speakers on back were mute. If I try "AFD MULTI" all speakers runs (but I've understand - reading the manual - that sorround is "faked"). I'm missing something?

    Have you set the Xbox to output Dolby Digital? Also the optical cable is going straight to the 260, not thru the TV right?

    Yes, I've set the Sorround mode on the X360 and I've directly connected the console to the 260. If you've some suggestion about this, tell me - I'll retry the setup when I'll go back home. Thank you for your quick answers!

    The case is probably closed ;)
    My speakers position was probably ugly and the auto-setup reduced the back speakers volume a lot:. A Minority Report DVD played by the xbox360 and a loud Burnout Paradise car crash sounded something from the sorround speakers. So, seems that 5.1 is probably working with "AFD STD" (the "right") settings and digital-audio cable from XBOX360 and the 260. Now probably I need some cables, switches and speakers standings. Thank you very much again ;)
