I've seen a few threads talking about the R87 vs the Panny, but how does the new R88 stack up, or is still essentially the same set?

I've heard the Panny has not so great sound, but is it better than the Samsung?

Narrowed my choice down to these two sets, and having some trouble deciding. Panny is £100 more (£491 delivered for Samsung, £591 delivered for Panny). Was going to go Samsung, but then found so many good comments about the Panny so I'm leaning that way now. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I am also looking at the Samsung R88 but I am also looking at the TOSHIBA 32C3030DB.

    This is mighty confusing.

Yeah, I saw the Tosh aswell.

The Panny would seem to trump them both in picture quality (from what I've read), but it's the sound I'm not sure about. And as I don't have any additional speakers, the sound from the set alone is quite important to me.

I dont know about sound but PQ wise the Panasonic is easily the best. I have a 32LXD70 and I am really pleased with the sound.
