Sky+ is using a good quality scart lead (Sky set for RGB output). The DVD depends on which model you have and which connections it has.

Easiest way to see some HD is to hook up a PC and watch some downloaded movie trailers, etc.

Yes, upgrade your scart. Perhaps aim for around £40 upwards, depending on your budget really. You can pay silly money, but the difference becomes negligible beyond a certain point, unless you are using a very big screen (or are extremely fussy!).

Hi, I also got my LE32R41BD today and let me summarise:

DVD via S-Video - awful picture! Too much contrast, blurred visuals
Video via SCART - awful picture! Too much contrast, blurred visuals
Xbox/PS2/GameCube via RGB SCART - awful picture! Too much contrast, blurred visuals

    I see a pattern here!

The images I got on my old CRT were crystal clear and my cables are of a good to average standard but I expected far better than this.

I'm sure I've set everything up correctly. I'm bitterly disappointed at the moment :(

    Can anyone offer any advice??

Okay so a blurry picture might be more difficult to sort out but there are user options for colour etc, play with them and find a level you find works best for you, peoples choices are always going to be different.

I still can't get it looking much better! I just tried my PS2 with PES 5 and it looked horrific! :( I tried 50/60hz and it still looks crap.

The Xbox doesn't fair much better. Some fellow forumites on the rllmuk forum have validated that this TV is useless on RGB.

Playing a DVD via S-Video isn't too bad but it's not even a quarter as good as my old CRT.

I'm so disappointed I can't really put it in to words! I'll go back to tinkering with the settings again but after seeing how crap playing games look on this TV I'm close to packing it back up and sending it back.

Everyone has varying levels of tolerance for picture quality so what one my find acceptable, another may find unacceptable.

Is the issue of bad RGB/S video quality the same on every set, or is it just some people make a bigger deal of it than others. I was just about to buy this (using it mainly for 360 and comp screen along with occasional regualr tv viewing) however was also going to use my multi-region dvd player that only has rgb scart and s video. How bad does it look? I know eventually i will end up gettin a blu-ray player and use HDMI but I don't want to be annoyed till then.

I have has this LCD for 4 months now. It took about one month to settle in, and the picture has improved immensely.

The best things come to those that wait!

No I don't believe in the expensive lead route. Mine are about a tenner each. In fact one was £4.99.
I managed it I guess by not messing too much.

I don't have any tolerance for lack of quality. If I buy something I expect it to work and do the job I bought it for. I can assure you that if there was the slightest sign of inferiority on my set of whatever make it would end up back at the shop. :D
