Well i have only been a member here for a short time and have been reading lots of posts from people who have either, a fault or are disapointed with the picture quality of this set. I am basically ready to buy this for just over £800 delivered, so before i take the plunge i wanna know whether i should save some more cash and go for something better. Advice welcome :lease:

My advice is that if you're going to spend that much money on a TV, save a little more and get something a little better.

There's always something better...and you could always be waiting... at some point you just have to make a decision and hope it works out.

Personally I feel that the issues quoted of the Samsung are over-exaggerated and for every one customer who is unhappy you will find another ten or more that think it is great.

    Absolutely,

I spent weeks deciding, in the end I opted for the freeview version. I've had it 2 weeks now. Me and the wife look at it each night......then cuddle it!! :rotfl:

I'd like to see this model in the flesh so to speak really, but saying that my missus has a 19' Samsung 913N which has continued to impress me for the price. While i cannot say its as good as my Dell 1905. I have seen the Sharp and i'm not sure about it...thanks for the replys so far guys i will continue to look :)

BUT DO NOT JUDGE IMAGE QUALITY AT DIXONS etc...

Invariably they will be using a crappy shared RF TV aerial....and the best they will be able to muster will be a DVD going via SCART.... not just this Samsung but other HD Ready TV's are capable of so much more.

    Confirmed.
My missus came with me to our local Comet to look at the Sammy "in the flesh" and made it clear, in no uncertain terms (in the kind of way that only a missus can do) that if the picture quality was going to be that bad, there was no way we were going to be buying one.
Thankfully she trusted my better judgement (which is a miracle in itself) and she now loves HER telly, as she calls it.

Just get your money out and buy one before they've all gone.
Busterdan said he would give you your money back if you weren't 100% satisfied.

    Snap,

Apart from my missus wanted to see if she liked the look of it!

It was more important that it looked good switched off

I'd definitely buy another if I had more cash. Best purchase I've bought in years, a fantastic telly!

My missus and I have been watching the West Wing S1 on DVD on it with it connected via component and progressive for the past few days. We decided to watch it downstairs on our Sony Trinitron/WEGA 32" CRT which produces stunning pictures in itself and she went "Why is the picture down here not as good as on the new Telly upstairs?"

That in itself is a solid testament of the quality of this telly coming from someone who said that we didn't need yet another TV! :D

    Watcha waitin for? :)
